Terms of use
The rules for using Roda: posting ads, contacting other users and what Roda is and isn't responsible for.
Last updated 21 October 2026
Draft — needs legal review before launch
1. About these terms
Roda (the website at roda.com.my and the Roda app) is run by Avia AI Sdn. Bhd. (“Roda”, “we”, “us”). By using Roda you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use Roda.
If you use Roda for a business, you confirm that you can accept these terms for that business.
2. What Roda is
Roda is an online marketplace where private owners and businesses advertise vehicles, plates, parts, services and events, and where buyers contact them.
Roda is not a party to any sale. We don’t own, inspect, hold or deliver the items in ads, and we don’t take payments between buyers and sellers. Any deal, including payment, inspection and the JPJ ownership transfer, is between the buyer and the seller.
3. Your account
- Give true and current details, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- A business account is for a real business. We may ask for SSM registration, a franchise or brand letter or other proof, and we may refuse or remove the business badge if we can’t check it.
- Staff who join a business through an invite link post under that business. The business is responsible for its staff’s ads.
4. Posting ads
Posting an ad is free. When you post an ad, you confirm that:
- you own the item or have the owner’s permission to sell it;
- the description, price, category and photos are accurate, and the photos show the actual item;
- anything you state about the item’s history (for example accidents, flooding, mileage, service history or loan status) is true to your knowledge;
- you post one ad per item.
We review ads before they go live and may check them again after you edit them. We may refuse, move to the right category or remove an ad that breaks these terms or the law, and we tell you the reason in My ads.
5. What is not allowed
- Stolen items, or items you don’t have the right to sell.
- Loan takeover (sambung bayar) without the bank’s consent. It breaks section 38 of the Hire Purchase Act 1967.
- Prices that aren’t real, false or misleading details, or photos that aren’t of the item.
- Items or services that are illegal to sell in Malaysia.
- Scams, spam, duplicate ads, or asking for payment before the buyer can see the item.
- Content that is offensive, harasses others or uses someone else’s photos or trademarks without permission.
- Collecting other users’ details, scraping Roda, or interfering with how Roda works.
6. Dealing with other users
Check the item and its documents yourself before you pay. Don’t pay a deposit before you have seen the vehicle, get a PUSPAKOM inspection for a used vehicle, and complete the JPJ ownership transfer before full payment changes hands. The Help centre has more.
Use chat and contact details only to deal about the ad. Report a seller or an ad through Contact us.
7. Paid features
Boost packages are optional and give an ad more visibility for a set number of days. The price and duration are shown before you buy. A boost doesn’t change our review of the ad and doesn’t guarantee a sale.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the text and photos you post. You let Roda host, show, resize and share them on Roda and to promote your ad (for example in search engines or on Roda’s social media) for as long as the ad is on Roda. You confirm that you have the right to give us this permission.
Posts in Latest are always about one of your live ads. When you post or link a TikTok, Facebook or YouTube video, you confirm the video and photos are yours or that you have permission to share them. The video stays on that platform; Roda shows it with the platform’s own player.
If an ad or post uses your video or photos without permission, report it (“Uses my video or photos without permission”) or contact us. We remove content that breaks copyright once we are told about it, and may close accounts that do it again.
9. Removing ads and accounts
We may remove ads or messages, limit features, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts other users at risk. You can stop using Roda at any time and ask us to close your account.
10. Our responsibility
Roda is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don’t promise that it is always available or error-free, or that ads are accurate. Ads are the responsibility of the users who post them.
As far as Malaysian law allows, Roda is not responsible for any loss that comes from a deal between users, from content posted by users, or from Roda being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Malaysian law that can’t be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act 1999.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you on Roda or by email before it applies. Using Roda after a change means you accept it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia decide any dispute about them.
